I’m Jeff Pledger, Co-founder of CyberAI. Since losing my sight 35+ years ago, my perspectives have broadened, not diminished. My experiences have not only shaped my personal and professional life, but also my approach to cybersecurity.
About Jeffrey Pledger: Seeing Cybersecurity Differently
Being blind has taught me invaluable lessons about perceiving vulnerabilities in unconventional ways. Before relocating to Canada five years ago, I dedicated more than 25 years as a database analyst, applications security specialist, and accessibility and diversity expert for Verizon in the Washington, DC area.
Once here in Toronto, I earned Honors postgraduate degrees in Cybersecurity, Financial Technology, and IT Project Management before founding CyberAI . Today, I utilize my unique perspective to advance pioneering solutions in fraud detection and prevention.
In September, I’ll sit for my CISSP exam to further validate my knowledge and credibility in this constantly evolving industry. I’d like to thank Dennis Kraft, CEO of CyberKraft, for his support and mentorship on my CISSP quest.

Fraud and scams in Canada have skyrocketed by a staggering 415% between 2020 and 2022, with an estimated loss of $530M, as reported by the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
